Scavenger Hunt on Day 1 an Icebreaker Activity with a version for kids

The ass't is to put on name tags and walk around the classroom to find which classmates fit these descriptions. It's a fun exercise based on one from my teaching instructor (Karen McDaniel) at CSUSM (Spring 2008) so that the class could learn to interact. Similar lessons can be found on line. -->

My teacher is wearing a RED hat.

  1. ................ is wearing the same color as I am.

  2. ................... has an aunt whose name starts with "M."

  3. ............. and .............. were born the same month.

  4. ....................... has more brothers than sisters.

  5. ............................... does not have a cellphone.

  6. ................................ came by bus.


  1. I am wearing blue; what color are you wearing?
  2. My aunt is Sandra; what is your aunt's name?
  3. I was born in July; when were you born?
  4. How many brothers do you have? How many sisters do you have?
  5. Do you have a cellphone?
  6. Did you come here by bus? car? foot? teleportation? parachute? plane?
